After-School Enrichment Programs for Kids

When the school day ends,
the fun begins

Raising Hands

New Concept Academy (NCA) is dedicated to helping kids in the bay area pursue their personal goals in language learning and beyond. We create, design and integrate up-to-date material to provide customized learning curriculum. Our education wisdom is to build up a healthy and encouraging long-term learning environment for our students.

First: Introducing an innovative subject-based teaching model.

NCA breaks away from the traditional model where a single teacher handles all teaching tasks in after-school classes. We adopt a new approach to subject-based teaching. Specialized teachers with solid professional foundations and extensive teaching experience teach Chinese, mathematics, and English. The combination of systematic instruction of knowledge points, in-class exercises, and well-planned classroom time provides students with the best learning experience while ensuring optimal learning outcomes.

Second: Diverse and innovative teaching methods

We adhere to the "student-centred" teaching principle, moving beyond the one-way model of teachers imparting knowledge to students. Starting from lesson plan design, we incorporate elements that encourage student initiative and creativity, fostering their participation and truly achieving "learning through fun." During class presentations, teachers utilize PowerPoint presentations, teaching aids, video playback, impromptu performances, interactive games, and handicraft activities to create an engaging, lively classroom environment, greatly enhancing students' interest and enthusiasm for learning.

Third: Intentionally designed assignments

NCA after-school program exercises are completed in class and promptly corrected and explained by the subject teachers. The design of Chinese assignments breaks away from the traditional emphasis on simple copying. It incorporates more practical elements, such as expanded reading, cultural topics, classical poetry study, oral expression, and essay writing training. This comprehensive training and improvement cover weekly listening, speaking, reading, and writing assignments.

Fourth: Timely updates on student progress.

The school sends "Weekly Learning Summaries" to parents of after-school program students via email every week. These summaries include teaching objectives, progress for each subject, and upcoming school activities, helping parents better understand their children's learning and school life. The weekly summaries also serve as a platform for interaction involving teachers, students, and parents, facilitating timely follow-up, communication, and concise effectiveness.

Make the most of your after school time!
